Colin's first commission was our wedding bands. Both were perfect and unique. He has since made several other pieces for me, including a necklace that I had the concept for but he designed and brought to life. Colin has created beautiful pieces that I wear every day. Sadly at the time of our engagement we could only afford a cubic zirconia ring, however it was a fantastic setting. I was always very happy with the ring until the main stone chipped and suddenly the ring was not so special any more. My wonderful husband decided it was now time to give me the ring of my dreams and so commissioned Colin at Aurum to replace the stones with the most beautiful clear Emerald and two Diamonds. Colin went to a great deal of trouble to get me the exact Emerald colour I love. The setting changed ever so slightly to accommodate the Emerald and the finished product is just exquisite. I commissioned Colin Thompson to make me a brooch/pendant, with a matching pair of earrings using blue pearls. I had to go into his studio/workshop and choose from already madeup items. Colin has completed enhancements to some of my jewellery which I was extremely happy with, he has also had to work under pressure, as a friend that I had referred to him lost his wedding ring a few days before flying out for his wedding. Colin managed to reproduce it under tight time-frames. Excellent customer service.

Colin was truly able to create and then enhance exactly what I wished. From vague ideas and a jumble of different magazine clippings to a completed engagement ring which is totally unique. Colin was happy to listen, draw, listen again and then locate the most stunning array of diamonds – all of them a lot more interesting - to us anyway - than the standard brilliant cut. We chose a radiant cut which is now consistently admired and recognised to be both beautiful and rare.
